We Are Now Using Dropbox

Company Newson July 22nd, 2010Comments Off

We have gone to the clouds! eosDesigns is now using Dropbox to transfer and share updated files with clients.

Dropbox is software that syncs your files online and across multiple computers. When we put client files into our Dropbox, they’ll be instantly available to you on any computer that you’ve installed Dropbox on (Windows, Mac, and Linux too!) An not only that – because a copy of your files are stored on Dropbox’s secure servers, you can even access them from any computer or mobile device in the world using the Dropbox website.

With Dropbox, online backup is automatic. Any file you put into your Dropbox folder is automatically backed up to their servers. Even if your computer has a melt-down, your files are safe on Dropbox and can be restored at any time. While their 2GB FREE account is perfect for backing up a few documents and sharing files with us, Dropbox offers larger accounts (up to 100GB) for backing up every file on your hard drive.

Tell Your Story & Save IHSS

Company Newson July 18th, 2010Comments Off

Recently UDW hired eosDesigns to design a social media campaign with an end-goal of saving the California IHSS program from devastating budget cuts.

United Domestic Workers Homecare Providers Union is a labor union founded in 1979 to represent in-home care providers. These are the dedicated people who cook, clean, and provide domestic chores and personal care to the elderly, blind and disabled; those who are too sick, frail, or disadvantaged to care for themselves.

Our plan was to put a personal face on the IHSS program and share with the world the stories of those who would be most affected by State budget cuts. The campaign is a mix of traditional PR and viral/social media marketing, with a the main component of the campaign being the newly created UDW Facebook fan page.

We built the fan page around a contest which asks people to submit stories, essays, poems, pictures, paintings, and videos to help the UDW put a personal face on the IHSS program – and the entries have been overwhelming. As the campaign progresses we will use these compelling entries to help share the human costs of cutting this important program and hopefully shape the budget debate in California.

Dynamic Call Tracking Out of Beta

Company Newson June 29th, 2010Comments Off

If you are one of the lucky ones over the past six months to have been included in our beta test of the new phone call conversion tracking system, then you already know how great it is to have accurate call reporting available when looking at the ROI on your various advertising initiatives. If you were not in on the beta test – don’t worry – the test is over and we are rolling out the service to everyone this week!

By using a variety of telephone numbers, URL redirects, and dynamic number replacement, we can track every phone call you receive and attribute it to its source. Want to know which newspaper ad is working better to generate calls? Or your exact conversion rate on Google AdWords counting phone calls and not just online contacts? Or maybe you want to automatically cycle calls evenly across a group of sales/support agents? Now you can – and almost anything is possible!

After six months of testing, we have worked out the kinks and decided on sustainable pricing model that is extremely affordable for our clients. Our goal with this service has always been to add value to our services, not add a new source of revenue – and our pricing structure reflects that! If you would like to know more about how phone call tracking could work for your company, please contact us for details.

New Email Newsletter System

Company Newson May 10th, 2010Comments Off

As some of our clients may already know, eosDesigns has recently launched a brand new email marketing system. The new system gives our clients unfettered access to their own campaigns, subscriber lists, and even their own letters (which can be easily edited and delivered through the admin panel).

With our “pay only for what you send” billing methods, you can say goodbye to monthly minimums and recurring fees. And say hello to an easy to use interface with all the features you need and nothing you don’t.

eosDesigns Launches UDW’s New Site

Company Newson May 10th, 2010Comments Off

We just wanted to say that it has been a pleasure working with the UDW and Kristine Loomis on this project. The UDWA is one of the largest labor unions in California:

United Domestic Workers Homecare Providers Union is a labor union founded in 1979 to represent in-home care providers. These are the dedicated people who cook, clean, and provide domestic chores and personal care to the elderly, blind and disabled; those who are too sick, frail, or disadvantaged to care for themselves.

They came to eosDesigns with the desire to recreate their entire website and incorporate all the latest social media technology into the heart of their design. They wanted to streamline the ability to add and edit content, and they needed a system that was capable of handling large amounts of traffic with a variety of embedded media. We recommended WordPress from the start and by going with an Open Source product we were able to save the UDW tens of thousands in development costs… Money that is better spent fighting for the people of California.
